Honey bees in the wild, comparative synthesis of 3 studies (France, Germany and Luxembourg)
What can we learn from the first results of three studies on wild honey bees in Western Europe?

The lecture will be given in French, recorded and available on our YouTube channel.

Vincent Albouy is a naturalist author and amateur entomologist. Formerly attached to the entomology laboratory of the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris, and former president of the Office Pour les Insectes et leur Environnement (Opie), he has been interested in honey bees in the wild for some fifteen years. Since 2017, he has been coordinating a multi-year study on the demography of honey bee colonies in the wild in the former Poitou-Charentes region, which was subsequently extended to the whole of northern New Aquitaine.

The conference:
By chance, three independent studies of wild honey bee colonies have been carried out in recent years in New Aquitaine in France, in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and in the Dortmund area. The first results obtained were the subject of a comparative synthesis on the environmental aspects that can influence the demography of honey bees in the wild.
